No two authors have the same writing skills in English. This is why we provide three levels of editing so that you can choose precisely how much editing you want applied to your manuscript. Depending on the urgency of your request, you may also choose between the regular service that will deliver your manuscript back within 7 days, the express service that will deliver your manuscript back within 4 days, and the super express service that will deliver your manuscript back within a speedy 48 hours. As cost is calculated on a word count basis, you will never be invoiced for more than you calculated beforehand. There are no hidden costs. You can immediately calculate how much it will cost to edit your manuscript by multiplying the number of words in your manuscript by the cost per word in the table above. If you wish to see how much it would be in other currencies, please use the XE.com currency converter.
Proofreading 1
Proofreading is for authors who are at ease with expressing their ideas in written English. It applies the standard rules of English grammar and spelling without rearranging/rewriting the text. This service is basically about presentation. The service is particularly useful for manuscripts that have been tentatively accepted for publication pending minor revision for grammar/spelling. It is also appropriate for authors who are absolutely sure that their text is fully comprehensible and lacking in ambivalence. Proofreading is done by our resident expert in the English language who has a B.A. in English Literature and the final text is checked for ambiguous statements and badly constructed sentences by a scientific editor.
Proofreading addresses the following issues:
- Correct word usage
- Punctuation
- Mistakes in spelling and grammar
- Consistency in fonts and font sizes
- Ambiguous statements and badly constructed sentences (highlighted only)
- Agreement between the verb and subject
Comprehensive editing 2
Comprehensive editing takes full advantage of the experience of our scientific editors. As each editor is specialized in a particular field of biological research, it is possible to achieve extensive and in-depth editing for clarity and impact without altering the meaning of the text. Comprehensive editing includes everything described under proofreading above, plus additional services that will improve the presentation of your work and increase its clarity. This service is ideal for authors who have difficulty in expressing their ideas in written English.
Thus, your manuscript will be extensively edited by a specialist in your field of study, and then subjected to a second cycle of editing by our resident English expert, who has a First-class B.A. in English Literature.
Comprehensive editing addresses the following issues:
- Badly constructed sentences
- Content
- Ambiguous statements
- Redundancy, repetition, and vague language
- Logical flow of arguments
- Tense (consistency and appropriateness of present, past and future tense)
- Overall readability
- Alteration of content to meet recommendations of reviewers
- Respect of journal format
Comprehensive editing PLUS 3
This service takes comprehensive editing one step further by adding an extra layer of editing done by another member of our editorial staff. In this way, the manuscript is subjected to three cycles of editing. This service is ideal when the manuscript must be published directly without any further editorial input, such as in grant applications, theses, and compilations of meeting presentations.
