Social Behavior and Personality

Established in 1973, Social Behavior and Personality focuses on scientific communication in the disciplines of Social Psychology, Developmental and Personality Psychology. Based in New Zeland, the journal publishes every 6 weeks, and receives submissions from authors all over the world. At the beginning of 2009, SBP joined the program of Ingenta Connect, one of the world’s pre-eminent companies for providing “state of the art” e-publishing solutions for scholarly journals. It seeks to publish papers that further knowledge in the fields of Social Psychology, Developmental, and Personality Psychology, and in particular, those with relevance to Educational Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology, Psychology of Personality, Clinical Psychology, Psychiatry, Sociology, Industrial and Community Psychology, Cultural Anthropology, and Management Science.

 

Research Articles:

  • Manuscripts should be written in a MS Word document (or similar), double spaced, in 12 point Times New Roman font, and should contain no identifying author information.
  • A separate cover letter should be provided containing the contact details (postal and email) of the corresponding author, and email and affiliation details for any co-authors.
  • A running head abbreviating the title to a maximum of 50 characters including spaces will appear at the top of each page in the published article.
  • Titles should generally be no longer than 12 words.
  • Abstracts should preferably be no longer than 120 words, conforming to the style of the American Psychological Association guidelines. Abstracts will appear in the APA database PsycINFO soon after article publication.
  • At least five keywords associated with your research should be provided, to maximize search engine effectiveness.
  • In the references, English translations of any works cited that were published in another language should be provided. Dates of retrieval should also be noted for any websites included in the References.
  • Tables and/or figures should appear at the end of the manuscript, following the references.
  • Spellings should adhere to their US forms, as found in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary.
  • The format for articles published in Social Behavior and Personality follows the recommendations of the American Psychological Association (APA) Publication Manual – 6th edition. The following are exceptions: volume numbers in the reference list should be given in bold; and volume, issue, and page numbers are not italicized, e.g., 9(3), 49-53.
