The Journal of Integrative Plant Biology

The Journal of Integrative Plant Biology (JIPB) is one of the most prestigious international plant science journals in China. The aim of the journal is to report novel scientific discoveries related to all biological processes in plants using integrative genetic, chemical, cell and molecular biological approaches to understand plants at micro- and macro-scale. The journal is published monthly both in print and online.

Research Articles:

  • Manuscripts in this section should be organized in the following order: Abstract, Introduction, Results, Discussion, Materials and Methods, Acknowledgments, References, Figure Legends, Tables and Figures.
  • These papers should fit into one of the following six themes: 1) Cell & Developmental Biology, 2) Metabolic Biology & Biochemistry, 3) Signal Transduction & Stress Response, 4) Systems Biology & Molecular Physiology, 5) Sexual Reproduction, 6) Molecular Evolution & Ecology.
  • Generally, there is no word limit for manuscript length. However, papers exceeding 10 published pages (approx. 30 manuscript pages) must be considered of sufficient novel content to justify their length.
  • Font should be 12pt in size, with lines spaced by 1.5.
  • Authors are advised to consult a recent issue of the journal for guidance on format, organization, and preparations of figures, legends tables and references.
  • Abstracts should be no longer than 200 words.
  • In particular, the Discussion section should not repeat the results, but moreover discuss their possible implications. Generally, conclusion sections, as well as statements of 'first finding' are not permitted.
  • US English spellings are preferred, as found in the Merriam-Wesbter dictionary.

New Technologies:

  • These articles should provide a concise and comprehensive explanation on how novel technologies may be applied in plant research and should evaluate and compare older techniques and explain why the new method is more efficient, cheaper, simpler, etc.
  • Manuscripts in this category should contain an abstract, keywords and references, as in a standard article.
