Dr. Yinka Zevering

Dr. Yinka Zevering obtained a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry and Zoology in the University of Queensland, Australia, and a PhD in Immunology and Tropical Medicine in the Queensland Institute of Medical Research. Her PhD project, which involved extensive field work in Thailand, involved the identification of malaria protein T-cell epitopes for potential inclusion in an anti-malaria vaccine.

Later work at the Max-Planck Institute for Infection Biology in Berlin involved searching for potential autologous epitopes that could trigger rheumatoid arthritis. Subsequently, Dr. Zevering performed research on candidate antigens for a vaccine against the gastrointestinal pathogen Helicobacter pylori. Thereafter, at the National Cancer Institute in Amsterdam, the focus of her research was T-cell tolerance to an autoantigen in multiple sclerosis model mice.

She has also worked for over 10 years as a biomedical editor and has a great deal of experience in editing journal manuscripts, case reports, and grant applications, particularly in the fields of immunology and medicine.
