Dr Christiana Kappler - Cell Biology/Molecular Biology/Signal Transduction
Dr Christiana Kappler received her B.Sc. degree in Biology from James Madison University, and a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Pathobiology from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). Prior to her doctoral work, she worked as a research specialist at MUSC studying the role of MAPK signaling in the mechanisms of vascular diabetic disease. The primary focus of her doctoral studies centered on alterations in signal transduction cascades during cardiac hypertrophy and the subsequent effects on gene expression in cardiomyocytes, particularly those genes involved in regulating calcium homeostasis.
