Dr Jennifer Wade - Endocrinology/Diabetes/Glucose homeostasis
Dr Jennifer Wade received a B.A. in Slavic Languages and Literature from the University of Chicago in 1993 before deciding to pursue a career in science. After graduation, she worked in Houghton Mifflin Company's textbook division by day and took undergraduate biology classes at Harvard at night before making the switch to her first laboratory position in 1995. After several years as a research assistant, she applied to graduate school and, in 2007, earned a Ph.D. in Biomedical Science from the University of California, San Francisco, studying the role of serotonin receptors in the regulation of food intake, body weight, and glucose homeostasis. Since receiving her Ph.D., she has been working as a postdoctoral fellow. Her areas of expertise include endocrinology, diabetes and obesity, behavioral neuroscience, physiology, genetics, and molecular biology.
